Rebecca LeMoine (Ph.D. in Political Science, University of Wisconsin-Madison, 2014) is an Associate Professor of Political Science at Florida Atlantic University. She specializes in political theory, teaching a wide range of courses including ancient political thought, modern political thought, American political thought, music and politics, literature and political theory, and other topics.

Her research brings ancient political thought, particularly Platonic political philosophy, to bear on contemporary discussions related to cultural diversity and global justice. She is the author of Plato’s Caves: The Liberating Sting of Cultural Diversity (Oxford University Press, 2020) and has published articles in numerous academic journals including The American Political Science Review, History of Political Thought, Polis: The Journal for Ancient Greek and Roman Political Thought, and Political Theory.She is currently working on her second book manuscript, tentatively titled Musical  Theôria : Contemplating Cultural Difference through Song in Ancient Greek Political Thought.

Dr. LeMoine was born and raised in South Florida, but has had the pleasure of living in several U.S. states as well as studying abroad in Senegal and England. Outside of the classroom, she enjoys running, listening to classic and indie rock music, and writing creative fiction.
